Don’t forget to use your voucher for FREE entry to Fleetwood Museum for up to 5 people. You can find it on Page 23 of your Fleetwood LINK-MAG August edition.

The new exhibition for 2020 is ‘ Take A Deep Breath’ – the story of the world famous lozenge, Fisherman’s Friend. The exhibition, sponsored by Lofthouse of Fleetwood, features the only bottle of James Lofthouse’s original linctus still in existence!

Fleetwood’s last Arctic trawler, Jacinta, a floating museum in the port since 1995, is being scrapped due to weaknesses in the structure of the hull. Many artefacts from the trawler have been donated to Fleetwood Museum by the Jacinta Trust. Some items are on show in the deep sea gallery.

The museum shop has numerous local interest books on sale, Fleetwood postcards, children’s pocket money toys and unusual gifts. Why not pop in to look round?

Our second hand bookshop, next to the Museum, where hundreds of books are priced at only 50p each, will be open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 10.30am – 3.30pm, also Wednesday afternoons 1.15pm – 3.30pm.

In order to comply with social distancing requirements, the coffee house and lecture room will not be open for the foreseeable future. Unfortunately due to steep steps and stairs the building is not accessible to people with mobility difficulties.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus we will not be arranging any talks or walks this year and the Historical Society which met in the museum for their winter season of talks have cancelled their programme till next year.
