A taste of Lapland came to Lytham St Annes when residents at an award-winning care centre were surprised by a festive visit from one of Santa’s elves and two of his reindeer.

Sweeping in from Lapland, the beautiful reindeer brought the elf to The Hamptons to join the care home’s Christmas party celebrations. Residents and their families, friends and loved ones joined the care home’s staff team for a show-stopping Christmas party complete with three-course Christmas lunch, carols, party games, exchanging of presents and other festive merriment and seasonal good cheer.

Adding a touch of magic and the unmistakable ring of Christmas bells to the celebration were the reindeer – and the residents were delighted with their unforgettable opportunity to touch and see the friendly visitors from the North Pole close-up.

Group commissioning director at New Care, Dawn Collett, commented ‘Christmas is a magical time of year, especially for families, and we aim to surprise and delight our residents with seasonal events that bring loved ones together and create special memories.  It was wonderful to see our residents interacting with the reindeer and sharing this special celebration with their loved ones.’

Resident at The Hamptons, Ralph Robinson, added ‘I can’t remember the last time I was that close to a reindeer.  They are such beautiful creatures, it has been lovely to see them close up, it’s really got me into the Christmas spirit.’

Located on Main Drive (behind Booths) in Lytham St Annes, The Hamptons is a ‘new generation’ care facility that features 76 fully furnished bedrooms, all with private en suite wet rooms, a range of stylish and elegant communal lounges and fine dining rooms, a nail bar, hair salon and beautifully landscaped gardens and outdoor areas.
