Soccer stars past and present are brushing off their boots to help raise funds for local girl Isabelle Grundy, who is seeking potentially life-saving cancer treatment in the USA.
Former Fleetwood Town players will be facing up to a squad of Blackpool Legends in a local derby being held at Highbury Stadium, Fleetwood, on May 1st, 2022.
A bumper charity auction and raffle, as well as an evening disco and entertainment by Fleetwood’s own JEPS will complete the day, which is being organised by Fleetwood Town FC All Stars.
The All Stars held their first major event last year, raising 6,500 for three local causes, despite it being held in the midst of the Covid pandemic.
This year, organisers are aiming to raise more than 10,000, with funds raised being given to six-year old Isabelle Grundy from Cleveleys, Isabelle was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer last summer, since which time local folk have been rallying to help raise the 200,000 needed to get her treatment in the States.
Fleetwood Town All stars representative Val Barton said : Living in Fleetwood, we know only too well how warm hearted local people like to rally round to support local causes.
There are many worthwhile projects in the town, but this year we decided to focus on this particular charity which has touched everyone’s hearts.

At 4pm, favourite past players from Bloomfield Road will be taking on former Fleetwood Town players in the main match of the day. (Watch this space for details of the squad!) Fleetwood Sea Cadets Old Boys Band will play during the interval.
The after-match presentation will take place on the pitch at 5.50pm, giving players and supporters just enough time to get back for the evening entertainment, which is adults only and gets underway in Jim’s Bar at 7pm.
There will be a grand prize draw and charity auction with cash prizes of 125 and 75 already up for grabs – with more to come – while local DJ Gary Savage and headliners The JEPS will keep the music flowing.
