Hillhouse Technology Enterprise Zone

Wyre Council wants to hear your views on the Hillhouse Technology Enterprise Zone masterplan. The masterplan consultation opens on Thursday 11 October for three weeks, with residents and businesses invited to have their say.

Hillhouse International became an Enterprise Zone in 2015, after being designated by central government, with the ambition of growing employment on the site and attracting new investment.

The Hillhouse Technology Enterprise Zone is part of the Lancashire Advanced Manufacturing and Energy Cluster (LAMEC) which includes Samlesbury, Warton and Blackpool Airport Enterprise Zones. The cluster has the potential to create thousands of jobs in their lifetime and will ensure that Lancashire builds on its position as one of the UK’s leading centres of excellence in advanced manufacturing and energy.

NPL Group, in partnership with Wyre Borough Council, the Lancashire Economic Partnership (LEP) and Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre Prosperity Board have commissioned consultants Mott McDonald to produce a masterplan that will cover the Enterprise Zone until 2041.

The masterplan has been developed at the early stages of the Enterprise Zone planning period, to serve as a framework for the development of the site over its 25 year lifespan.

A three week public consultation on the draft masterplan will commence on Thursday 11 October until Thursday 1 November 2018.

The council will also be holding a ‘drop in’ event on Friday 12 October at Thornton Football Club, Bourne Road, FY5 4QA, between 1pm and 6pm where you can come and review the draft Masterplan and discuss proposals with a member of staff.
