Local companies urged to take on the £50 challenge

Businesses across the Fylde coast are today being asked – are you up for the challenge?

The Fylde Coast £50 Challenge that is, where firms in Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre can sign up to receive £50, and spend four months turning it into as much as possible to support local hospice care.

The challenge is being set by Trinity Hospice, and businesses can choose whether to support Trinity, or its dedicated children’s hospice, Brian House.

Last year’s challenge was cancelled as local companies were forced to change their operations in light of Covid-19, but the previous year was the challenges best yet, as 37 companies battled it out to raise more than £53,000 for the charity.

The hospice’s Fundraising Team is hoping for an even better year this year, and firms have already pledged their support.

Trinity’s Corporate Partnerships Manager, Janet Atkins, said: “We really missed our supporters in business last year, and we really want companies out there to have some fun while getting back on their feet after the challenges of the last 12 months.

“We love the novel ways organisations have chosen to take part in this challenge in the past, and we’re expecting this year to be just as exciting. We know our supporters love the healthy competition this challenge brings.

“Businesses come in all shapes and sizes – so whatever they raise above the £50 starter is absolutely incredible and means so much to us at Trinity and Brian House. The last 12 months have hit us all extremely hard, but we know we will be counting the true cost of Covid-19 for a few years to come.”
