Deanie’s Challenge – (Dean Johnson)
Weather permitting this will be taking place on Saturday 9th of July 2022.
This is open to any paddle craft Stand up Paddle, Canoe and Kayaks.
We will be starting training now for a lap of England’s largest lake, Lake Windermere.
To raise money for Trinity Hospice, this amazing place looked after my sister and our family in the hardest week we’ve ever had to come through.
A full lap will include all the coves around the lake which will bring the distance up to just over 25 miles / 40.2 km in one day.
We will be building up distance training for anyone that what’s to get involved. 🏄‍♂️
Dress code Hawaiian fancy dress.
If anyone wants to take part please go on Facebook Group “Fylde Coast Sup” and look under events. Just drop us a message and we’ll look forward to paddling with you 🏄‍♂️🚣‍♀️

Nadine had been battling a very rare debilitating illness called Idiopathic Multicentric Osteolysis ( Disappearing Bone Disease ) since the age of 3 which also affected her Kidneys and high Blood Pressure.
During the last year of Nadine’s life she developed a Respiratory Disease and her Kidneys failed resulting in Kidney Dialysis which we did for her at home.
Never once in Nadine’s life did she ever complain or feel sorry for herself, she was always joking and smiling and had so much generosity, love and compassion to give to others!
Nadine’s motto in life was “ Never say can’t “ . An inspiration to all, she was so highly thought of and loved by so many people for her fighting spirit, she dealt with any obstacle she came up against with such great dignity!
When Nadine and her Brother Darren were young they were recognised for bravery at the McDonalds Child of Achievement Awards Ceremony in London in 1990. Nadine for her fighting spirit coping with her illness and Darren for encouragement supporting his Sister which he continued to do throughout her life.
Nadine made the most of her life, living it to the full, she gained a BA Hons in Leisure Studies at Central Lancashire University in Preston even though she came up against discrimination during her first year from other Students sharing her halls of residence.
Nadine being in a Wheelchair didn’t let it stop her Parascending, trusting someone to catch her as she landed! , she travelled far and wide on holidays to Japan, USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Cyprus, France, Tenerife and Germany to name a few! , she also loved attending the Theatre and Rock Concerts.
Nadine will be dearly missed by all her family, relatives and friends ❤️
