The People’s Choice Awards 2018 nominations are now open and we’d love for you to vote and make one of Wyre’s parks a winner!

Earlier this year Poulton’s Vicarage Park, Hawthorne Park in Thornton, Wyre Estuary Country Park in Stanah and Fleetwood’s Memorial Parkwere presented with a prestigious Green Flag Award. All Green Flag award winning parks are entered into the annual People’s Choice Award vote, which gives the public a chance to vote for their favourite park. Wyre’s parks are maintained by dedicated members of staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to enhance our parks natural beauty and ensure they are kept clean and tidy.

Events are held all year round for everyone in Wyre to enjoy. There are great facilities at all our parks, from children’s play areas to multi-use game areas, cafes, gardens and much more. There are many reasons to vote for your favourite park!

All you have to do is go to www.greenflagaward.org, find your park on the winners map and click the voting button. Voting opens 1 September and closes 30 September, with the top 10 sites being announced on 16 October.

Councillor Simon Bridge, Street Scene, Parks and Open Spaces Portfolio Holder at Wyre Council, said ‘We are very proud of our parks and open spaces in Wyre and were overjoyed to win Green Flag awards earlier this year for four of our parks. A People’s Choice Award would be the icing on the cake and so we would like to encourage the people of Wyre who visit and enjoy our parks to vote for us.’

Vote today and make Wyre a winner!
