One of the UK’s best-loved pop bands, Busted, are heading to Blackpool for a dazzling Blackpool Illuminations Switch-On concert.

Brit Award-winners Busted will be joined by the multi-talented singer-songwriter Nina Nesbitt, and Sigma, the British drum and bass DJ and record production duo who have twice topped the UK singles charts.

Britain’s top dance group, Diversity, and Club MTV DJs R3wire & Varski will also join the line-up at Blackpool’s Tower Festival Headland on Friday 30 August for what promises to be the most spectacular free event of the year!

Formed in 2000, Busted were one of the biggest pop success stories of a generation. They have since sold more than five million records and have just completed a huge arena tour, thrilling their army of fans with a high-energy show featuring hits such as the iconic Year 3000, Crashed the Wedding, Sleeping With the Light On and You Said No. The tour coincided with the release of their brand new studio album, Half Way There.

A VisitBlackpool spokesperson said ‘We are delighted to be able to welcome one of the great names in British pop to the Switch-On stage. With so much talent already confirmed, it promises to be another night to remember.’

They will take to the stage immediately after the big Switch-On moment for an epic finale under the Lights!Cam and Joe said ‘Looking forward to bringing the party to Blackpool Illuminations! Blackpool be ready!’

Diversity will return to the Switch-On stage to perform yet another scintillating routine just weeks before they embark on their massive UK tour to celebrate their 10th anniversary.

Also returning are crowd favourites R3wire and Varski, the Club MTV DJs and record producers who have helped turn Blackpool Illuminations Switch-On night into the coolest party in town.

The Friday night celebration will start with a ‘Blackpool Introduces’ showcase featuring the best of talent from across the Fylde Coast, prior to the start of the main show, the Switch-On itself, and then an hour-long party under the Lights.

More artists, including the celebrity who will pull the switch to launch the 2019 Illuminations season will be unveiled in the weeks ahead.

As last year, the Switch-On event will be free for the lucky winners of the 20,000 wristbands that will give entry to the Tower Festival Headland arena. Allocation is restricted to four wristbands per household. The ballot closes at midday on Monday 29th July.
