Fylde Coast Food and Drink Festival at Marine Hall

Back at Marine Hall for its 7th year on Sunday 18 August. Come along between 10am and 4pm for a delicious day out for all the family – Entry is free and there’s plenty to buy and try!

There’s everything a foodie could wish for including cheeses, chutneys, meats, cakes, chocolates, jams, pies, puddings and much more. There are also some tempting wines to taste and buy, delicious ciders, fruity gins, specialist coffees, traditional teas and some delicious artisan cordials and flavoured vodkas.

Plus, there’s plenty of hot food cooking outside for lunch – from authentic Thai street food to wood fired pizza and hot sausage sandwiches. For those who like spice there’s an abundance of seasoned street food on offer. You’ll be spoilt for choice.

For those with a sweet tooth there are lots of tasty treats inside including chocolate brownies, cakes, fudge, and marshmallow or if that doesn’t take your fancy there are various ice creams and scrummy sundaes to satisfy your taste buds!

New for this year we have a dedicated Kids zone in the Marine Gardens where you can expect to find lots of activities for the kids while browsing around the stalls! The activities will include real parrots with Bird Man Parrot Rescue, children’s singing and hourly story sessions with Fleetwood library, sports activities including table tennis, badminton and gym equipment by YMCA Fleetwood, Crafts by Brown Cow Inc, a Bee hive and if that’s not enough it gets bigger and better! For the first time ever at this event, we will be hosting a Funfair on the Marine Gardens 10am-4pm! This adds to the perfect day out and lets the little ones enjoy the rides at only a small cost per ride!

On stage, The Ice Cold Chef, John, will be creating a series of dishes including starter, lunch and dessert that are all easy to make, even on a busy working day, plus all the healthy, fresh and nutritional ingredients are easy to buy locally.  The demonstration will include a Starter of Battered Cod/Haddock Bites on a bed of fresh salad with a Dijon/garlic dip, a Lunch of Parmesan/flaxseed crumbed chicken escalope served with crispy celeriac wedges and tomato ketchup, followed by a Dessert of low carb trifle. John will use local produce including Fish from Fleetwood at Dockside and meat from Nigel Wilkinson’s Butchers. These demos will take place on stage at 11.30am, 1pm and 2.30pm.

There will also be live performances throughout the day from the Thornton Cleveleys Brass Band outside in the Marine Hall gardens at 12pm, 1.30pm and 3pm.

Lynne Bowen portfolio holder for Leisure, Health and Community Engagement at Wyre Council comments ‘We’ve had an overwhelming response from exhibitors with a whole host of new businesses that we’re delighted to now be working with as well as the great new additions to the event with a family fun fair and kids zone. The Fylde Coast Food and Drink Festival is the perfect event for all the family to enjoy.’
