Heritage Tram Tours has introduced a Christmas-themed tram tour, The Magical Express, with all tours departing from the specially renamed North Pole tram stop.

The tram tour will use a 1930’s style double-decker tram which has been decorated inside and out in a festive theme to create a magical experience this Christmas.

The tour offers a unique opportunity to experience the Blackpool Illuminations and runs from North Pier to BlackpoolPleasure Beach and back again, lasting around 25 minutes.

Running every Thursday – Sunday and daily from 17th December – 3rd January, residents and visitors can board the tour at the North Pole Heritage tram stop, formerly known as North Pier, located near to the Tourist Information Centre on the promenade.

Shane Grindey, Marketing & Commercial Manager for Heritage Tram Tours said “Families of all ages can enjoy a unique experience with us this Christmas as they ride on a vintage tram with special decorations through the famous Illuminations. We’ve made sure it is an affordable experience for everyone with tickets priced at £2 for children and £4 adults, with every child receiving a free activity pack.”

Cllr Lynn Williams, Leader of Blackpool Council, added: “The Magical Express tram rides are a fabulous addition to our Christmas By The Sea village. They bring yet another dimension to what is our best ever festive programme of family entertainment.”

Tickets for the tram tour can be pre-booked online at www.blackpoolheritage.com or customers can simply turn up and pay on the day.

The Magical Express tram tour is part of the Christmas By The Sea event taking place on the Tower Festival Headland from 19 November – 3 January and includes a free-to-use skating rink, simulated snowfalls, a magical forest, log cabins, festive tower projections and more.

The village, which was officially launched by Dancing On Ice star Dan Whiston and young cast members from children’s charity BIDCA, is part of an extended Blackpool Illuminations season with the famous lights on display every night until 3 January.
