Trinity Hospice to open two new charity shops on Fylde coast

Retail staff at Trinity Hospice have been busy preparing for the reopening of their shops on the high street, and the grand opening of two new shops for the Fylde coast.

On Monday, as well as its 16 existing charity shops across Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre, the hospice will be opening the doors to its new furniture shop on Dock Street, Fleetwood, and its dedicated book and music shop on Wood Street, St Annes, supporting Brian House Children’s Hospice.

Trinity re-opened its donation warehouse on Talbot Road, Blackpool, in March to get its charity shops stocked and ready for reopening, and saw more than 3,000 bags of donations made in just one week.

Retail Manager Paul Guest said: “As always, the support we have seen by those in our community is just phenomenal.

“We made sure we created a safe outdoors environment for people to make their donations, and we were amazed at how many people came with their good-quality items.

“We’re so grateful they have thought of us, so that we can turn the items they no longer need into much-needed funds for local hospice care across the Fylde coast.

“We’re delighted that we are able to open two new stores – our furniture shop in Fleetwood will provide a local alternative to people in the north of the Fylde, and our dedicated book and music store is something we’ve wanted to have for some time.

“Our shop managers have been working hard to get all of our shops ready for Monday, and we’re all really looking forward to throwing open the doors and welcoming in customers once more.”

Paul said that the new stores meant the hospice was in need of more retail volunteers, and promised a role to suit all people – from uploading goods online for sale through the hospice’s eBay shop, to sorting donations and till work.
