Blackpool is celebrating the autumn season with an additional night of spectacular fireworks.

The free Fireworks Fiesta night will be staged on the Promenade on the evening of Saturday 13 October.

It will follow hot on the heels of four World Firework Championship events which featured performances by France, Romania and Canada, and which will culminate with a showcase demonstration on Friday 5 October.

The additional event, which will be produced by firework experts ‘Titanium’ has been funded from destination marketing monies paid to the resort for the ongoing disruption to rail services.

Cllr Gillian Campbell, Deputy Leader of Blackpool Council, said ‘We are delighted to announce a fifth night of fireworks in the autumn season. As always the four nights linked to the World Fireworks Championships have proved hugely popular with residents and visitors alike and we know that there will be huge turn-out for this bonus fifth night, particularly as it is being staged on a Saturday. This additional free fireworks event will herald a fantastic programme of entertainment lined up for October including Slimefest and the Lightpool Festival.’

The fireworks will, as in previous years, be fired from North Pier with build up from 7:30pm and the show starting at 8:30pm.

Please allow for plenty of time to arrive at the event.  There are plenty of restaurants and eating establishments available on the promenade and in the town centre to enjoy before and after each display.

In addition to the fantastic fireworks competition, anyone attending the event will be invited to stay on and enjoy the Blackpool Illuminations atmosphere at Lightpool, where there will be new projection shows for this year projected on to the front of the Blackpool Tower buildings.
