Generous Alfie Boe fans around the world have raised an incredible £1,283 for Trinity Hospice by watching videos of the singer in action over one weekend at the end of August.

The ‘Alfie Boe YouTube Marathon’ organised by the official Alfie Boe fan blog, ‘thoughtsofjustafan’ asked fans to make a donation online while watching and sharing their favourite Alfie moments. It’s the second time the blog has organised the event in aid of Trinity Hospice, where Alfie is a Patron, and this year’s total is more than double that of last year’s.

‘Thoughtsofjustafan’ blogger Jane Ireland said ‘Alfie’s fans are as generous as him and we love to support Trinity and Brian House when we can. Watching Alfie videos is a great way to raise money and we’re all thrilled to see the total reach over £1,200.’

Alfie himself sent a tweet on Sunday thanking fans for their support of Trinity Hospice. He said ‘A massive thank you to all who took part in @AlfieBoeFanBlog’s @YouTube marathon which has raised an amazing £1,283.81 for @trinity_hospice!’

Head of Fundraising at Trinity Hospice Linzi Warburton said ‘We are incredibly grateful to all the Alfie Boe fans out there who made a donation as part of the Alfie Boe YouTube Marathon. The event raised a fantastic sum of money which, when we saw that some of it came from Japan and the US, is just staggering. We are so privileged to have Alfie as our Patron, as events like this prove his name alone encourages people to support our very local charity and hospice care. We can’t thank thoughtsofjustafan enough for putting on this event in aid of Trinity Hospice and Brian House Children’s Hospice, and encouraging everyone who took part to donate whatever they could help us provide the very best palliative care here on the Fylde coast.’
